Symbian Operation System Will Be Terminated?

Posted By admin on November 5th, 2010

According to some news on the internet, Nokia announced that it would lay off 1,800 employees, most of them work in the Symbian department and service department. So some of us guess that:

1. Symbian is gradually exiting from the center of the strategy of Nokia.

2. Nokia might cut its tail for survival.

Of course, in considerably long time, Nokia will not completely give up Symbian systerm. Although it failed in the battlefield of high end smart cell phone market, Nokia still occupies a large share. This is the base which Nokia could bob up like a cork.

Symbian operation system was once hot all over the world. But swift development of iPhone and Android cell phone makes it disintegrate. Many Symbian allies quit quietly. This brand manufacturer couldn’t support the future of Symbian alone. Nokia needs to think thoroughly. Why Symbian couldn’t hold on in the smart mobile phone market.

Comparing to WM7′s fightback, Nokia cooperate with Intel, intending to take advantage of the entirely-new MEEGO to turn over. So we could conclude that how important an advanced OS is. But choosing a suitable time to launch into market is more important. Opportunity matters for survival of any mobile network company. You should be brave and smart enough and choose a right time if you want to take back all your loss.

As an old saying says, trade leads like to trade the knife. Stephen Elop commenced his assignment, so he surely will do something to demonstrate himself. His possible achievement is worth of waiting. Nokia is in the process of changing. Changing to be good or bad needs time to tell us.
